There are 23 rooms available. Two are on the first floor and are handicapped accessible. During the winter months the BCY is almost always full with a waiting list. Each floor is equipped with a kitchenette, communal sitting area and restrooms for both men and women. To rent a room there are requirements that are set forth by the State Housing as the BCY is a low income housing facility. A resident must qualify according to the regulations and rules set forth by the state and BCY rules. Contact Sharon Faskas at the office 520-432-3542 |

Babe’s room is on the 4 th floor with a beautiful view of the town. Her room is warm and cozy, with her arts and crafts decorating walls and nooks. Babe even says she stays in good shape climbing the four flights of stairs many times during the day. |
“ A NICE PLACE TO LIVE”
“Babe” is like part of the institution, and it seems like she has been there forever. Actually she came just about 10 years ago from Pennsylvania, first, going to Benson where she found herself homeless and at loss for a place to stay. After staying at several shelters Babe discovered the Bisbee Community Y, which she now calls home. In just 10 years she has seen a lot of people come and go at the BCY. One person she still speaks of fondly is Ritsko, a women from Japan. They still keep in-touch. One thing Babe likes about the BCY is that it is a “community place” but yet you have your own private rooms. People all share and help each other and are caring most of the time. Babe says she is “comfortable” living at the Bisbee Community Y. Babe remembers the hostel with good memories of meeting people from all over the world and from all walks of life. She remembers the disturbing days of the remodeling but is happy to have instant hot water, a kitchenette on each floor and both a male and female bathroom on each floor. The building feels safer and cleaner.
